Wolf & Galentz is more than just a gallery. It is a place where art from East and West Berlin meets. Here you can see how artists from different backgrounds have shaped Berlin’s art scene. In 2018, Joachim Pohl sought someone to continue his gallery. Pohl’s gallery focused on art from East Berlin and the GDR since 1945. He found Archi Galentz and Andreas Wolf. Both artists were keen to keep the gallery alive. They had experience in curating exhibitions and knew many people in the art world. Archi Galentz and Andreas Wolf continue Pohl’s work. They focus on 20th-century and contemporary art from Berlin.

Archi Galentz is one of the founders of Wolf & Galentz. He had a birthday exhibition here. It was called Private Club / Geschlossene Gesellschaft. The exhibition featured eight of his most important art projects. These included an early painting from 1991. There was also a rarely shown photo project with an installation. The installation was called Sirvival Kit. It was first shown in Belgrade in 2005. The exhibition also included Not Red Banners from 2003.

The gallery also manages artists’ estates. These include the estates of Gisa Hausmann and Gunther Baumgart. Wolf & Galentz promotes international artistic exchange. They have connections to artists in Finland, Croatia, Macedonia and the USA. They also have contacts in Russia and the Caucasus region.

Wolf & Galentz offers many services. They advise collectors and art lovers. They also trade art and mediate artists. The gallery can research art and care for estates. They produce edition objects and catalogs. They even offer bespoke frames.

The gallery team is diverse. It includes the artist Archi Galentz. Designer and artist Andreas Wolf is also on the team. Anna E. Wilkens is a Germanist. A team of freelancers also supports the gallery.

You can visit Wolf & Galentz on Sundays and Mondays. It is also open by appointment on Wednesdays to Fridays. The address is Wollankstrasse 112a in Berlin.
