Have you ever heard about a plateau formed by an ancient glacier? The Nauener Platte is a lowland plateau right here in front of us. A very old plateau! Millions of years ago, glaciers sculpted the land, leaving behind a landscape dotted with rolling hills and fertile valleys. The Nauener Platte is actually a glacial landscape – it’s part of the Havelland, but higher up. The Nauener Platte is also incredibly diverse. It’s a haven for unique plants and animals, with a vast expanse of meadows, forests, and even some rare sand dunes. Back in the day, the Nauener Platte was home to a military training ground. Today, it’s a protected area with plenty of space for nature to thrive.
