The church family, nearly 400 members strong, gathers here to worship, learn, and serve. Westwood Presbyterian Church prides itself on being a welcoming space for people of all backgrounds. Whether deeply rooted in their faith or just beginning their journey, Westwood Presbyterian Church embraces diversity. This includes a mix of ages, life stages, nationalities, sexual orientations, and political views. Many members come from other Christian traditions, while some have little or no religious background at all. Westwood Presbyterian Church actively seeks to live out Christ’s call to love God and neighbor. They strive to be thoughtful and faithful Christians, a light for the city of Los Angeles. From its humble beginnings, Westwood Presbyterian Church has birthed ministries that have touched thousands of lives. Their work extends to organizations like PATH (People Assisting the Homeless), FosterAll, the Westside Food Bank, and Habitat for Humanity. These efforts demonstrate their commitment to caring for the most vulnerable in their community. Originally, the congregation worshipped in a repurposed real estate office. They moved this small building to their hilltop location in 1949. Several years later, the current Gothic-style sanctuary was built. The original building remains on the campus as a fellowship hall. The church continues to expand, a testament to its growing congregation and the enduring spirit of Westwood Presbyterian Church.
