Standing here at 13220 Greenfield Road, we’re about to delve into the story of Dunamis Outreach Ministries. Dunamis Outreach Ministries also known as DOM is more than just a church. It is a community. It is a place of worship.

Dunamis Outreach Ministries’ story began long before its official inauguration. Glimpses of DOM emerged from an informal prayer meeting in Indianapolis in September 1981. Young pastors gathered and the Lord spoke to Pastor Reginald Lane. He was told to call it the Dunamis Outreach Ministries. Armed with a name and logo, Pastor Lane pursued the vision of DOM. It was to be an evangelistic team.

A year later, the meaning of Dunamis was revealed to Pastor Lane. He discovered it meant “power”. Still unclear, he tucked this information away. He devoted the next nine years to ministry.

In January 1991, Pastor Lane entered a 30-day period of prayer. The Lord accelerated the vision He had given him years earlier. Pastor Lane emerged knowing he was called to build a church.

On June 9, 1991, Dunamis Outreach Ministries held its first service. It was at the Marriott Hotel in Southfield, MI. Seven members were present. Over fifty people witnessed the powerful move of the Spirit. It was in that small room that the unique worship was born.

The Lord continued to add to the church. He saved and restored people from all walks of life. As they grew, they moved to a small office building in February 1993. From the first service, membership grew to over 1,000. In May 2000, they moved to their current location on Greenfield Road in Detroit.

Throughout its history, Dunamis Outreach Ministries has influenced worship. In the summer of 2000, they released their first CD called “Tears to Cheers”. It continues to bless congregations nationwide and in parts of Europe.

The call to reach the world has always been part of Dunamis Outreach Ministries’ foundation. They have used radio, television, and the web to spread their message. In 2003, they established a church in Atlanta, GA. They also developed associations with churches overseas.

Pastors Reginald and Kelly Lane have a vision for people. They want to see people come to know God through Jesus Christ. Their vision is to produce men and women who love God. They want to see people develop in spirit, soul, and body.

Dunamis Outreach Ministries extends a heartfelt invitation. All are welcome to return home to DOM for the anniversary celebration. It is an occasion to remember cherished moments. Reunite with your DOM family. Recharge your spirit.

Step into the sanctuary of Dunamis. Here, the air is thick with the presence of the Lord. Every worship song and every prayer becomes a testament to God’s grace and love. The seasons may change. But the essence of DOM remains a sacred place. It is a place where faith finds its voice. It is a place where lives are forever transformed.

The history of Dunamis Outreach Ministries is a history about God in DOM’s life. It is a place where life begins. Remember. Reunite. Recharge. You are always welcome at DOM.
