Officially opened in 1987 by Dr Ahmad Mattar. He was the Minister for Environment and Minister-In-charge of Muslim Affairs. It’s the only mosque on Orchard Road. Serving a diverse congregation. People from all walks of life find solace here.
The mosque has seen significant changes. A 2008 facelift improved classrooms and facilities. They focused on teaching Islamic knowledge in English. A smart move connecting with a wider audience. Then came the Mosque Upgrading Programme in 2015. This major renovation expanded the space significantly. Over 500 square meters were added. More prayer space. Improved washrooms. Now it’s even handicapped-friendly. Barrier-free designs make it accessible to everyone.
