Pause for a moment here before Haus Werner. This house embodies a unique architectural vision. Kraus Schönberg designed it for a young family. It stands as a testament to innovative design and structural ingenuity.

Haus Werner features a striking two-level design. The upper part seems to float. This closed-seeming section contrasts with the transparent lower area. The bedrooms and children’s rooms are on the upper floor. The living and dining areas are below.

Notice the varying heights of the rooms. The upper floor projects into the lower part to different extents. This creates different ceiling heights. The walls and ceilings consist of prefabricated solid wood panels. These panels allowed for quick assembly. Construction only took a few days.

Werner Sobek was responsible for the structural engineering. His expertise ensured the stability and safety of this unique design. The planning took place between 2006 and 2007. Construction was completed in 2007.

Haus Werner received the German Timber Construction Award in 2009. This award recognizes the innovative use of wood in construction. It also celebrates the architectural excellence of Kraus Schönberg’s design. Ioana Marinescu captured the house’s beauty through her photography. Her images showcase the interplay of light and space.

Werner Sobek also has an office in Hamburg since 2019. It is located in the Scandinavian House. Boris Niels Heyer heads the Hamburg office. The team is interdisciplinary. They maintain a friendly atmosphere.

The office is involved in several major Hamburg projects. These include the roofing of the Rothenbaum Stadium. They also worked on the escape bridges in the Speicherstadt. Their portfolio includes new exhibition halls. They are currently working on projects in the Übersee-Quartier.

Haus Werner exemplifies modern family living. It combines aesthetics with functionality. The design maximizes space. It integrates seamlessly with its surroundings. The house showcases the possibilities of prefabricated construction. It also highlights the importance of structural engineering in innovative architecture.
