Did you know Northville High School boasts a history stretching back to 1865? Northville Union School then it became Northville High School. It’s a legacy woven into the very fabric of this community. Imagine Alice Beal. She was the school’s first graduate in 1869. Her diploma was hand-printed on parchment. Think about that. Northville High School has moved several times. It’s now on Six Mile Road. But the spirit remains. Generations of students have walked these halls. They’ve pursued dreams learned and grown. The current building opened in 2000. It’s a testament to community growth and pride. It wasn’t the first. The original high school building became Hillside Middle School. The school has a strong academic record. In 2014 it earned a Silver Medal from US News and World Report. It ranked among the top 500 schools nationally. It was even near the top 300 STEM schools. That’s something to be proud of. Beyond academics the school shines. The music and arts departments are award-winning. There are eight choirs including the acapella groups Backbeat and Treblemakers. Multiple bands also exist. The marching and symphonic bands are prestigious. The jazz band is especially known.

It later transitioned to broadcasting. The Northville News Network now broadcasts school news and student life segments. A YouTube channel was created in 2022 to reach a wider audience.
Finally Northville High School has produced many notable alumni. These include athletes such as Matthew Boldy a professional ice hockey player.
