Inside St Agnes’ Catholic Church awaits a visual feast. The interior was decorated in 1913. McCulloch and Co. executed the lavish details. Gilded quatrefoils stencil the walls of the nave. A stencilled frieze adorns the apse. Gilded stars dot the ceiling.

Marvel at the two fine tripartite marble and mosaic altars. They sit in the side chapels. A statue of Our Lady graces the centre of the right-hand altar. A statue of Jesus Christ is on the left. Don’t miss the outstanding carved alabaster Gothic pulpit. The pierced marble and alabaster altar rail has fine brass gates.

St Agnes’ Catholic Church is part of the Archdiocese of Glasgow. The Catholic Parish of St Agnes is part of the Diocese of Glasgow. The church offers several services. Sunday Mass is at 10.30 am. A Vigil Mass is held on Saturday at 5.00 pm. Weekday Mass is at 10.00 am. Holy Days of Obligation include morning and evening services. Confessions are heard on Saturday mornings. They are also available after Vigil Mass. You can request them anytime.

St Agnes’ Catholic Church welcomes visitors. It is open from 9.30 to 10.30 am Monday to Saturday. Arrangements can be made for other times. The Parish Priest is Rev. Anthony Ejikeme since 1998.
