Nh\u00e0 Th\u1edd Long \u0110\u1ea1i has been a part of this community for 109 years. It is the home of Saint Matthew Le Van Gam. The parishioners celebrate his feast day every year on May 11. They believe their faith grows through his intercession.
Let’s journey back in time. The parish started as a simple church. It was over 100 years ago.
From 1935 to 1947 Father Tien from Ben Go Parish served here. Details are unclear for the period between 1947 and 1968.
War ravaged Nh\u00e0 Th\u1edd Long \u0110\u1ea1i in 1968. In 1975 Father Theodor Nguyen Cong Hoan rebuilt the church with leaves and metal sheets. He belonged to the Xit\u00f4 Phu\u00f3c S\u01a1n order. It was rebuilt in 1983.
Father Gioakim Vu Ngoc Long served from 1988 to 1991. Then Father Dominh Nguyen Dat Tam from the Th\u00e1nh Th\u1ec3 order took over from 1991 to 2001. Father Ph\u00earo Trinh Nhu Cung also from the Th\u00e1nh Th\u1ec3 order followed from 2001 to 2002. From 2002 to 2003 Father Giuse Phan Ngoc Tr\u1ee3 led the church. He also belonged to the Th\u00e1nh Th\u1ec3 order.
Father Giuse Nguyen Cong Ky renovated Nh\u00e0 Th\u1edd Long \u0110\u1ea1i in 2004. Since 2007 Father Micae Pham Tien Thanh from the Th\u00e1nh Th\u1ec3 order has been the pastor.
