Prime Minister Modi unveiled the hologram on Netaji’s 125th birth anniversary in 2022. He stated it symbolizes India’s indebtedness to this remarkable leader. The technology is cutting-edge. An almost invisible holographic screen projects a 3D image of Netaji. The effect is stunning, allowing viewers to walk around and admire the figure from all angles. A powerful 4KW projector, boasting 30,000 lumens, illuminates the hologram, making it visible even in daylight. It’s a testament to Netaji’s “can do, will do spirit” that Modi invoked during the unveiling. The Netaji hologram statue occupies a significant space. It stands beneath the very canopy that once housed a statue of King George V, removed in 1968. The hologram anticipates the arrival of its permanent successor, a granite statue sculpted by Adwaita Gadanayak. The granite, a black jade variety, will journey from Telangana. The final statue, designed by the Ministry of Culture, will be a prominent landmark visible from Raisina Hills. The Netaji hologram statue serves as a poignant reminder of India’s struggle for independence and the unwavering spirit of one of its most iconic leaders.
