His nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren brought him immense joy. Francis was a man of diverse interests. He was an avid reader, a camp counselor, a swimming director, and even a lifeguard in Weymouth. After retiring, Francis dedicated his time to the Sutton Historical Society. He was known as “the village smithy,” crafting items at the Rufus Putnam Blacksmith shop. He shared his skills at the Waters Farm, Farm Days weekend event, alongside his friend Steve Colognes.
