Standing before Moore Park Baptist Church, you might not immediately realize it, but this space has been a pillar of faith in the community for decades. The humble beginnings of this church started in 1957 as a Sunday School under a house, a testament to the dedication and passion of those seeking to spread the message of Christ. The church grew out of a desire to reach beyond the existing Taringa Baptist Church, bringing the warmth of the Gospel to the neighborhoods of Indooroopilly and Chapel Hill.
As the community grew, so did the church. Within a year, the Sunday School was moved to a tractor shed nearby, a temporary shelter until the current church was constructed in 1961. The church has grown and flourishes, reflecting the community it has served. It is a multi-generational gathering place for Bible-believing Christians, people from all walks of life united in their faith and their desire to serve each other and the wider community.
