Trường Đại học Tài nguyên và Môi trường Thành phố Hồ Chí Minh

Established in 1976 the Ho Chi Minh University of Natural Resources and Environment has a rich history. It started as a humble secondary school. This school trained technicians in construction and surveying. It was located at 236B Le Van Sy Street Tan Binh District Ho Chi Minh City. Over time it grew. In 1994 several schools merged. This created the Polytechnic College 3. The focus shifted to surveying and construction. In 2001 the school changed its name again. It became the Polytechnic College Central Region 3. It added two departments. These were the Department of Surveying and Mapping and the Department of Land Management. A major transformation happened in 2006. Two colleges merged to form the Ho Chi Minh City College of Natural Resources and Environment. This college had two campuses. One was at the original location. The other was in Ap Long Duc 3 Hung Phuong Tam Phuoc Dong Nai. Finally on August 19 2011 the college received university status. It became the Ho Chi Minh University of Natural Resources and Environment. This made it the only university in Southern Vietnam directly under the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment. Today the Ho Chi Minh University of Natural Resources and Environment offers many undergraduate and postgraduate programs. These cover various fields. These include land management environmental technology and information technology. The university boasts impressive facilities. These include several laboratories and workshops. It is also actively engaged in research and development. It is a vital center for training specialists in natural resources and environmental protection. The university plays a critical role in Vietnam’s sustainable development. The university contributes to the country’s progress. It does this through education research and technological transfer. The Ho Chi Minh University of Natural Resources and Environment continues to grow. It is expanding its infrastructure and programs to meet the nation’s needs. It is a testament to the progress made in higher education and environmental awareness in Vietnam.
