In 2006, the Co-Cathedral parish saw the potential in the former Federal Reserve Bank Building. For a cool $5 million, they acquired it, christening it “Cathedral Centre”, a name that speaks to its future purpose. This building, imagine, would become a vibrant hub for the parish community, replacing the aging 1922 Sacred Heart School building. Inside these walls, classrooms would buzz with activity, offices would hum with parish work, and a parish hall would host countless gatherings. And that’s not all. The Cathedral Centre would also house youth rooms, a child care center, music rooms echoing with melodies, a library filled with stories, and even a bustling cafeteria. But transforming this former bank into a center of faith and community wouldn’t be cheap. The parish projected another $2 million in renovations, a testament to their commitment to creating something truly special.
