“Taste the great taste deliciously” exclaims the school’s principal. Welcome to Seoul Jamsil Elementary School. It is a public elementary school in Songpa-gu Seoul.
Seoul Jamsil Elementary School was established on October 2 1976. The first principal was Jong-gu Park. In 1979 it was established as Seoul Jamil National School. In 1987 a kindergarten was opened. The school’s name changed to Seoul Jamsil Elementary School in 1997. Due to the Jamsil Jugong Apartment reconstruction the school was closed in 2005. Seoul Jamsil Elementary School reopened on January 1 2008. Sang-jeon Jang became the ninth principal in April 2008. In June 2012 Seong-hye Uh became the tenth principal. In 2016 Hae-chung Kim became the eleventh principal. In September 2019 Moon-hwan Choi became the twelfth principal. Kyung-ae Kim became the thirteenth principal in September 2023.
Seoul Jamsil Elementary School uses the iamservice app. Parents can communicate with different faculty members through the app. Various fields work together to help with children’s education.
In 2021 Seoul Jamsil Elementary School students participated in “HIP History GO! GO!”. This was in connection with Songpa-gu Office. Students explored local history. They learned about the relics and culture of Hanseong Baekje. They discovered major historical figures. They studied heroes of the Joseon Dynasty. They learned about the Imjin War. Students enhanced their understanding of history through storytelling quizzes and problem-solving.
In another program fourth-grade students engaged with media. It was called “Let’s Play with Media”. This program aimed to improve their understanding of media. Students learned to express their thoughts effectively. They created public service announcements. They analyzed news and made event posters.
