Time to step back to 1985. That was the year Seoul Yeoncheon Elementary School first opened its doors.
Seoul Yeoncheon Elementary School is located in Eunpyeong-gu. You will find it in Bulgwang-dong in Seoul. It is a public elementary school.
The school’s motto is “Cheerfully, brightly, and with understanding.” The school’s flower is the forsythia. This symbolizes the bright and healthy students. Like the forsythia, they face the sun with joy.
The school’s tree is the Zelkova. It represents great talent. Its strong trunk signifies a firm will. Its harmonious branches represent a well-organized order. It embodies the boundless hope for the students of Seoul Yeoncheon Elementary School.
In 2010, Yeoncheon Nuri Hall was built. In 2011, the Byeongseol Kindergarten opened. Seoul Yeoncheon Elementary School was designated as an innovative school in 2015. In 2019, it was re-designated as an innovative school.
In February 2020, the 35th graduation ceremony was held. Fifty-eight students graduated. The cumulative number of graduates reached 5,817. In March 2020, the school had 18 classes. A special classroom for students with learning difficulties was newly installed.
As of April 3rd, 2024, 229 students attend Seoul Yeoncheon Elementary School. There are 22 faculty members.
Seoul Yeoncheon Elementary School continues to educate. It fosters independent, creative, cultivated, and harmonious individuals. The goal is to develop basic habits and skills for daily life. It also cultivates a sound personality.
