Jiguang Town. A name that echoes with the spirit of innovation. Here in Chengdu, Jiguang isn’t just a town, it’s a testament to the ever-evolving landscape of technology. Originally Minzhu Township, Jiguang Town became its own entity in December 2019, absorbing the former township’s area. Jiguang is more than just an administrative region. It’s intertwined with the story of Aurora Mobile, a company whose name resonates with the dawn of a new era in mobile technology. Aurora Mobile, whose Nasdaq stock symbol is JG, was listed in 2018, marking a significant milestone. The company, headquartered in Shenzhen with offices here in Chengdu, has been instrumental in shaping the mobile landscape. Founded in 2011, Aurora Mobile, initially known as Shenzhen Hexun Huagu Information Technology Co. Ltd., launched JPush in 2012. JPush was a pioneering product, the first in China to offer professional push notification services for app developers. This innovation allowed developers to build highly stable and scalable cloud architecture. It helped reduce costs and reach target users more efficiently. By 2017, JPush served over 600,000 apps, reaching billions of mobile devices. This reach extended to an astounding 750 million monthly active devices and over 3 billion daily push notifications. Aurora Mobile’s journey didn’t stop there. They continued to evolve, expanding into precision marketing and data services. Their dedication to empowering developers led to the creation of innovative products like JUMS, JVaaS, and JUnion. By 2021, Aurora Mobile achieved its strategic goal of a complete transformation to a SaaS business. Jiguang Town stands as a symbol of this transformation, a quiet hub where the future of mobile technology is constantly being written.
