Drawn to God and dedicated to service the Bethel Pentecostal Church stands as a beacon of faith. It stands on Humboldt Avenue in Dorchester. Bethel Pentecostal Church has a rich history rooted in community and spiritual growth.
Bethel Pentecostal Church began its journey with humble origins. In April 1988 Pastor Ray Hammond was appointed to start a new church. Just a couple months later five people met at the Hammond home for Bible study. This small gathering marked the beginning of Bethel’s story. By October 1988 Bethel Pentecostal Church officially began services.
Early services were held in various locations. These included the Riverside Nursing Home and the Mattahunt Community Center. The church also met at Parkside Christian Academy. These locations served as temporary homes as the congregation grew.
In February 2000 Bethel Pentecostal Church achieved a significant milestone. The church purchased its Ministry Center. This provided a stable base for its operations and community outreach. Then in December 2007 Bethel Pentecostal Church expanded further. It purchased St. Andrew.
Bethel Pentecostal Church is more than just a place of worship. It is a Bible-believing Holy Spirit-empowered congregation. The church’s mission is to know God and please Jesus Christ. This is done through worship prayer tithing study and service. Bethel Pentecostal Church is committed to preaching and teaching the truth of God. They demonstrate the love of Jesus to people of every race gender nationality age and social class.
