The path leads to a viewpoint where a wooden sculpture commemorates the area’s history. A Bockwindmühle a post mill stood here from 1808 to 1936.
Another path connects the Berliner Balkon to Alt-Mahlsdorf. This path also goes to the Gründerzeitmuseum. This museum in the Mahlsdorf Gutspark was created in 1960 by Charlotte von Mahlsdorf. The Gutspark itself lies on the Barnim plateau. This shows the contrast between the plateau and the lower-lying valley. The Barnim plateau is a large flat area in northeastern Berlin. Its edges are rarely visible.
