Opened in 2016, Yuangang Station is a vital part of Guangzhou’s metro system. Yuangang Station serves Line 7 of the Guangzhou Metro. This station, located under the bustling Xingnan Avenue in the Panyu District, is more than just a stop on the line. It represents a fascinating blend of urban planning and historical adaptation. Originally, two separate stations were planned for this area under Xingnan Avenue: Guantang Station and Jingkeng Station. However, the construction of the Nanda Highway threw a wrench into the works. Line 7 had to be rerouted beneath the north side of Xingnan Avenue. This shift left insufficient space for the original Guantang Station. The solution? Merge Guantang Station with Jingkeng Station and relocate the combined station to its current location. This is the Yuangang Station we know today. This decision demonstrates the city’s ability to adapt its plans to accommodate new developments, while still maintaining its commitment to expanding public transportation. Yuangang Station boasts five exits, labeled A through G. Although one exit was still under construction at one point in the past, now they all help to disperse the flow of passengers into the surrounding area.
