The opening of George Bush Intercontinental Airport faced delays, shifting the area’s growth and leaving the congregation without a permanent home. Holy Comforter Lutheran Church wouldn’t have a permanent address for several years. They persisted, holding services in a trailer-chapel shared with an Episcopal church. Finally, in 1972, they broke ground on their own building on Woodland Hills Drive.
