Macgregor State High School

Established in 1969 MacGregor State High School opened its doors to 203 students and nine teachers. It’s a significant landmark in MacGregor a southeastern suburb of Brisbane. Named after William MacGregor a former Queensland Governor the school boasts a rich history. The school’s early years weren’t without their challenges. A student brawl in 2006 even made its way onto YouTube gaining over 1000 views before being removed. MacGregor State High School however is much more than just a place of learning. Daniel Amalm a talented guitarist and actor also calls MacGregor State High School his alma mater. Even Jung Ryeo-won a Korean-Australian singer and actress counts herself amongst the school’s graduates. Today MacGregor State High School continues to thrive.
