Legacy High School

Did you ever hear about a high school that offered Arabic? Legacy High School in North Las Vegas did, briefly. It was the first in Nevada! Legacy High School opened its doors in 2006 with 1,820 eager students. Today, the roar of Longhorn pride echoes through the halls with nearly 2,640 students attending. Legacy High School prides itself on preparing students for a diverse and competitive world. The school’s motto, “A World of Learning, A World of Difference,” reflects this commitment. Legacy High School’s colors are navy blue, white, and burnt orange. The Longhorns’ main rival is Arbor View High School. The rivalry game is called “The Battle of the Bulls”. The trophy, known as “The Horns,” is highly coveted. Currently, Arbor View leads the rivalry 5-4. In 2009, the Longhorns football team charged to victory, winning their first division championship with a perfect 11-0 season. This included a nail-biting 7-6 win against powerhouse Palo Verde. They later lost in the semifinals. Legacy High School has a history of athletic excellence. The men’s soccer team dominated from 2010 to 2012, then again in 2015, clinching division championships each year. The baseball and softball teams both swung their way to victory in 2010. The men’s volleyball team had a Cinderella story in the 2012-2013 season. With a new coach at the helm, they spiked their way to their first playoff appearance in school history after a previously lackluster record. The flag football team joined the winner’s circle in 2014 and 2015. And let’s not forget the men’s volleyball team, who served their way to regional and state championships in 2014! Legacy High School is more than just a school. It’s a testament to the power of dreams, hard work, and Longhorn spirit.
