We are standing before the Church of the Icon of the Mother of God “Healer”. It is a beacon of hope. It is located at Kashirskoe highway 34 in Moscow.

In the early 1980s, this space was born out of necessity. The church met the needs of the NII. This refers to a research institute. The building of the Church of the Icon of the Mother of God “Healer” was erected through the institute’s own means. Its employees contributed in 1992. Former doctors and psychiatrists of the NII now form the congregation.

The church was consecrated on October 30, 1992. The consecration was performed by Patriarch Alexy II. This happened under the authority of the Holy Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia. The Church of the Icon of the Mother of God “Healer” was established by Patriarchal decree.

The church resides in a specially equipped area. It’s within the National Mental Health Research Center of the Russian Academy of Medical Sciences. It is meant for patients undergoing inpatient treatment. Access is not freely available.

The rector is Protoiereus Alexander Mikhailovich Farkovets. Services are held every week. On Thursdays, evening services begin at 4 PM. On Fridays, the Divine Liturgy starts at 8 AM. Services also take place on great church holidays. The sacraments and rites are performed as needed.
