Fountain House founded the Manhattan-based gallery in 2000. The Fountain Gallery sells original artworks. It collaborates with a wide network of artists and curators. Cultural institutions also work with the gallery.

The Fountain Gallery’s studio is in Long Island City. This studio is a collaborative workspace. It furthers the professional practice of its artists.

The Fountain Gallery embraces emerging and established artists. It also embraces trained and self-taught artists. The gallery makes a vital contribution to the New York arts community.

Fountain House founded the Fountain Gallery in 1948. Fountain House believes people living with mental illness can be active participants in their own recovery. They can also be active in each other’s recovery.

On Governors Island, Fountain House Gallery presents a community-powered site-specific installation. Fountain House members and staff co-lead this installation. They host collaborative Open Studio Art Making. Members of the public and artists contribute to this installation. All artists are members of Fountain House.

You can visit Fountain Gallery Tuesday through Friday from 12 PM to 6 PM. On Saturdays, you can visit from 1 PM to 7 PM. The gallery is closed on Sundays and Mondays.
