From its humble beginnings the West End Baptist Church has grown significantly. Its current location in Industry Texas houses a thriving congregation. These include a noon day Bible study Wednesday worship and Bible study Sunday school and Sunday service.
The church is led by Reverend Dr Michael A Jolla. He’s not just a spiritual leader but also a man of many talents. Before his current role he served as senior pastor of St John Missionary Baptist Church in Greenville Texas. A native of Weyanoke Louisiana Dr Jolla holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering. He also has a Master of Divinity and a Doctorate of Ministry from prestigious institutions. His impressive academic achievements reflect his dedication to both his faith and his intellectual pursuits.
Dr Jolla’s contributions extend beyond West End Baptist Church. He serves as Treasurer for the National Missionary Baptist Convention of America. He is a national instructor and writer. His work with the National Baptist Sunday School and Baptist Training Union has touched the lives of many. He is also a writer and his sermons were even published as a result of his studies at the Georgetown College of Oxford England.
Beyond his spiritual leadership Dr Jolla’s humanitarian efforts have garnered recognition. He was the first African American to receive the key to the city of Greenville. He is the first pastor to receive the NACWC Darcus Club’s Humanitarian Award. This clearly shows his commitment to service and his impact on the wider community.
