Huainan Normal University was founded in 1958. The Ministry of Education authorized undergraduate programs in March 2000. The university faced a brief closure in 1962. This was due to a nationwide adjustment in higher education.
Resilience marked its return in 1977. In 1999, a merger occurred. A teachers college, an education institute, and a normal school joined forces. This formed a new and stronger university.
Huainan Normal University occupies 81.07 hectares. It boasts a floor area of 480,000 square meters. Its library houses 1.9 million books.
Currently, the university has over 19,000 full-time students. It has a teaching staff of over 900. There are over 270 faculty with senior professional titles. Over 600 have a doctorate or master’s degree.
Huainan Normal University comprises 15 schools. It also has a continuing education college. They offer 60 undergraduate programs.
