Stepping onto the grounds of Harahan Christian Church, you’re greeted by a sense of quiet peace. This unassuming building has a story though. Harahan Christian Church was founded in 1962. Pastor Marion “Sugar” Lauricella brought the church to life, and his legacy of serving the community carries on. The church holds to a simple motto: “Come as you are.” It’s a welcoming message, one that’s been passed down through generations. Pastor Sugar led the Harahan Christian Church until he passed away. His grandson, David Lauricella, now serves as pastor, continuing the tradition of faith and community service. This church isn’t just a place to worship, it’s a hub for the neighborhood. It’s a place where everyone is welcomed, regardless of their past, and where the true meaning of community thrives.
