Imagine a place where people find solace. The story of Myoshoji begins with a dedicated priest. This priest trained on Mt. Myoken in Nose. He felt a calling to help others. This led him to create a sacred space for the Lotus Sutra. Many people found comfort here.
After the priest passed away at 90 followers built Myoshoji. They wanted to continue his work. Myoshoji stands by the Mutsu River. The river flows gently. It mirrors the temple’s peaceful nature. People can visit and worship freely.
Myoshoji has connections to other temples. The head priest spent time at So-Fuku-Rin a training center for young monks. He also studied Shomyo Buddhist music. This music plays a key role in the temple’s ceremonies. The priest became a Shomyo master. He performed at large events. These events took place at Hiezan and Yokohama Arena.
He aims to pass down his knowledge. He wants to teach the next generation. He was born in 1964 and became a monk at age 11. His brothers are also priests at other temples. He participates in various organizations. These include groups for religious leaders and end-of-life care.
In 1984 he renovated the training hall and became a Nichiren priest. He studied Buddhism at Rissho University. Later he became a missionary. In 1993 he became the head priest of Myoshoji. He continues to teach and guide others.
