Behold Firnat Missionary Baptist Church a testament to faith and perseverance. Standing before you is a place of worship with a rich history. Founded in July 1978 by Reverend Will C Moore it started with a humble gathering of seven members. Imagine their dedication their unwavering belief.
Firnat Missionary Baptist Church began at the corner of Firnat and Sundown streets. It was a small beginning a simple space for prayer and fellowship. But the spirit moved them. The congregation felt a calling to build a larger more permanent structure.
In 1980 with fifteen members they purchased land across the street. This was no small feat. The construction began in February 1981. Clearing the land laying the foundation these were acts of faith. Raising funds for the construction was a great task. Yet the church community relied on their faith and the generosity of their members. They trusted in the Lord. They followed biblical teachings on tithing and offerings. Miraculously they completed the construction without any mortgages.
In May 1983 they entered their new building a symbol of their unwavering faith. The new Firnat building is a testament to their commitment to God their community and each other. It stands as a beacon a place of spiritual growth and community support. Their journey reflects Ecclesiastes 7:10. Their story is one of faith growth and unwavering belief. This church is more than bricks and mortar. It’s a community a sanctuary and a living testament to the power of faith.
