Founded in 1914 as the Denver Bible Institute this institution has evolved significantly. It began modestly. The early years saw immense growth. A permanent home was secured through the generosity of Denver businessmen. Denver Bible Institute became Denver Bible College in 1945 gaining state charter status as a four-year institution. It expanded significantly adding three key academic schools. The college of liberal arts a theological school and a Bible institute. The name changed again to Rockmont College in 1949.

Rockmont College achieved accreditation in 1981 a milestone moment. Four years later it merged with Western Bible College. The result? Colorado Christian College. In 1989 a further merger with Colorado Baptist University formed the Colorado Christian University we know today. This wasn’t just a change of name. It was a significant step. It established the institution firmly. It positioned it as a leading Christian university in the Rocky Mountain region.
