The Capela de Santo Ant\u00f3nio do Telheiro seems to whisper secrets. It stands before you, a simple chapel with a long history. Built in the 18th century, it was designed in a neoclassical style. The inside is decorated with neoclassical retables. But it wasn’t always so. The Chapel was once part of a larger complex, known as the F\u00e1brica do Carvalhinho. This factory produced tiles, and its workers were known for their devotion to Saint Anthony. The chapel itself is a testament to their faith. In 1956 the front of the chapel was covered with white and blue ceramic tiles. The left side features an image of Saint Anthony with the inscription “F\u00e1brica do Carvalhinho”, below it “Capela de Santo Ant\u00f3nio do Telheiro”. On the right side, you can see a picture of Our Lady of F\u00e1tima and an inscription that reads “Restored in the year 1956”. This beautiful chapel is a reminder of the importance of faith and the cultural heritage of Porto. It is a place of peace and tranquility, a place to reflect and connect with the past.
