Established in 1893, the Katholische Schule Am Weiher has witnessed generations of students pass through its doors. This isn’t just any school. The Katholische Schule Am Weiher is a Catholic school, deeply intertwined with the St. Bonifatius church community next door. Originally, the school included a girls’ school and a boys’ school. Today, the former girls’ school building houses classrooms and a communal hall, while the former boys’ school stands proudly behind the church. The Katholische Schule Am Weiher serves students from Eimsbüttel, Altona, Stellingen, Eidelstedt, and even parts of Niendorf. The school offers classes from preschool up to the 4th grade. It also has a Vorschule (preschool) program with a mix of structured learning and free play. Think of guided activities like learning games and crafts. She took over leadership from Dieter von Böhlen in 2020, marking a new chapter in the school’s long and vibrant history. The Katholische Schule Am Weiher isn’t just focused on academics. They also offer a wide range of extracurricular activities, like a school choir and participation in the Zehntel-Marathon.
