Founded on April 3 1950 the High School Affiliated to Renmin University of China stands before us. It started as the Beijing Experimental Accelerated Middle School for Workers and Farmers. The Chinese Ministry of Education created it. This was to develop China’s education system.
In 1952 the school joined Renmin University. Its name changed to Workers and Farmers’ Accelerated Middle School Attached to Renmin University of China. By 1955 it welcomed more students. The school broadened its curriculum. Traditional high school classes were added.
In 1956 another name change occurred. It became Workers’ and Farmers’ High School Affiliated to Renmin University of China. Finally in 1960 it received its current name. It is now known as the High School Affiliated to Renmin University of China. Locals often call it RDFZ.
