Hidden amidst the vibrant tapestry of Kuala Lumpur stands the Persatuan Penganut Dewa Shan Ling Gong. This unassuming temple dedicated to Ji Gong Huo Fo is a treasure waiting to be discovered. Its location near Kampung Kasipillay is a secret known only to the devout. Many years ago a remarkable event transpired. Two teenagers stumbled upon a Ji Gong statue nestled in a tree branch. One boy a practicing medium felt compelled to bring the deity home. He placed it on his altar for worship and meditation.

Soon word spread. People sought out the Ji Gong medium. Devotees flocked to the humble dwelling. A larger altar was built. A bigger incense burner was needed. The small temple grew organically. More space was needed. Another altar was constructed in the garden. A house adjacent to the main structure provided living quarters.

Today you see the results of that initial discovery. The temple features a wide-open design. This open-air structure lets nature flow freely. This openness reflects a sense of freedom. It is a testament to the temple’s origins. It was once surrounded by a lush garden with fruit trees. This is a reminder of a simpler past. The current cramped space is a consequence of urban development. But the spirit of the temple remains strong.

The altar is a vibrant spectacle. It is laden with numerous deities. Among them are Guan Yin Pu Sa. Also present are Fa Zhu Gong and Da Bo Gong. Guang Ze Zun Wang and General Zhao Gong Ming reside here. Guan Sheng Da Di and Na Zha San Tai Zi are also honored. Qi Tian Da Sheng has a place among them. The local guardian deity Na Du Gong also finds a home here. Next to him stands the White Tiger deity Bai Hu.

A cabinet holds precious Wu Chia Pi liquor. This special liquor is used during mediumship. It is believed to hold medicinal properties. This is used to cure many illnesses. A small green room dedicated to Yin deities stands nearby. These deities include Cheng Huang Ye. Da Bo Ye Er Bo Ye and Xiao Zi Ye are also present here. Niu Tou Ma Mian completes the selection. Statues of Da Bo Ye and Er Bo Ye stand near the main altar.

The story of this temple is a testament to faith and devotion. It is a reminder that even a seemingly small and hidden place can hold immense spiritual significance. It is a place where the extraordinary unfolds amidst the ordinary. The Persatuan Penganut Dewa Shan Ling Gong awaits your silent respect.
