Robertson Park: ever wondered how this green space came to be? The story starts with a local family of Robertsons. They gifted this land to Renfrew in 1912. Their aim was simple. They wanted an open space. It should be for the children and families of Renfrew.
Robertson Park got its name from these generous landowners. The park officially opened in October 1912. Renfrewshire Council now takes care of it.
Robertson Park celebrated its 100th anniversary in October 2012. A commemorative oak tree was planted. Deputy Provost John Caldwell and local school children attended the ceremony. A special spade was used for the planting. The Robertson family used this very spade to plant the first tree back in 1912. Renfrew Community Museum provided it for the occasion.
Robertson Park offers many things to do. There is a duck pond, floral gardens and a BMX course. A skateboard park and tennis courts are available too. You can also find a putting area, a bowling green and a sensory garden. Cycle tracks and swing parks provide even more options. There is even a small animal enclosure.
