Saint John the Baptist Church

Although the church was originally established in 1910 at 119 West Olmos Dr., it relocated in 2006 to its current location at 6800 Evers Rd in Leon Valley. This move wasn’t just a change of address, it symbolized a growth in outreach and mission. The church is known to be a place of worship and it serves as a spiritual home to many in this community. But beyond its religious role, Saint John the Baptist Church goes above and beyond to meet the needs of those around. The church partners with the San Antonio Food Bank to tackle food insecurity. It has been feeding over 22,000 individuals since the start of the partnership. Since 2019, they have partnered with Leon Valley Elementary School to operate a food pantry, providing food to students in need. The church also goes beyond to provide clothing, backpacks, and classroom supplies for the students.
