A whisper of history hangs in the air. Here stands Juyuan a town steeped in centuries of Sichuanese life.

Juyuan’s name itself is a poem. It means gathering source. This refers to the convergence of the Zouma and Xuyan rivers. These rivers converge in the low-lying lands of Juyuan. This fertile valley has supported life for generations. Imagine the ancient farmers working the land. Their lives intertwined with the rhythmic flow of the water.

Juyuan’s story stretches back to the Tang and Song dynasties. The ancient Daojiang county stood on the land that now houses Juyuan. The town boasts a rich history. It was a bustling marketplace as early as the Xianfeng Period. Juyuanchang market thrived. It served as a vital hub for trade and commerce. This market officially changed its name to Juyuanchang in 1913.

The Three Kingdoms era left its mark. Duan county was established within Juyuan during the Shuhan period. Later the Tang Dynasty saw the creation of Panlong Guanning and Daojiang counties. Juyuan has witnessed power shifts and political changes. The town adapted and endured.

Even the landscape reflects the rich history. The Yingxiang Temple one of western Sichuan’s four jungles stands as a testament to Juyuan’s spiritual heritage. Legend says that Yang Guifei a beloved concubine of Emperor Xuanzong played near Luofei Pool. She fell in this pool as a child. The pool became known as Luofei Pool.

Today Juyuan thrives. The town features numerous industries. The building materials optical lenses and wood flooring industries are pillars of the local economy. There are seventy-plus enterprises in Juyuan Town. It is one of the top five towns for economic strength in the city. Juyuan connects to the outside world via national highway 213 and Chengguan Expressway. This transportation network supports the town’s continued growth.

But Juyuan is more than just industry. The town houses a vibrant community. Renowned artists like Luo Zhongli and Nima Zeren have lived and worked in Juyuan. The town supports a creative and cultural atmosphere. The art community adds another layer to Juyuan’s character.

Juyuan is a place of convergence. It is a place where history and industry intertwine. It is a place where water flows and artists create. It is a place where a rich history and vibrant present coexist. Juyuan is truly a fascinating place to discover. A place deserving of more than a passing glance.
