Built in 1985, Bldg No. 1, Guanghua School of Management wasn’t always known by this name. Originally, it housed the faculty of Economic Management and the Center of Scientific Management. These two entities merged in 1993 to become Peking University’s School of Business Administration. Just a year later, the Guanghua Education Foundation, a generous benefactor from Hong Kong, made a substantial donation. The school’s name was changed to Guanghua School of Management in recognition of this gift. Today, Bldg No. 1 stands as a testament to this history and the school’s ongoing commitment to excellence.
