Beijing Internet College was founded in 1954. This coincided with the rise of China’s electronic industry. It was shortly after the founding of New China. The college was originally named North China Fourth Industrial School.

Imagine the atmosphere buzzing with innovation. The goal was to accelerate China’s electronic development. Beijing Radio Industry School was the new name in 1956. The college trained many electronic technicians. It significantly contributed to China’s electronic industry. People called it the cradle of electronic talent.

In 1993 Premier Li Peng praised the college. He wrote an inscription for the 40th anniversary. It said: “Aiming at electronics cultivating talents”.

Reform and opening up led to rapid growth. In 1999 Beijing Radio Industry School merged. It joined Beijing Adult Electronic Information University. The new name was Beijing Information Vocational and Technical College. The goal was to train more information technology talents. The Ministry of Education approved this merger.

Two more schools joined in 2003. These were Beijing Computer Industry School and Beijing Electronic Industry School. Higher vocational education grew stronger. In 2021 Beijing Electronic Industry Cadre School also merged. This created new opportunities for the college.

Beijing Internet College has a significant impact. Over 60000 graduates have emerged from here. They are high-caliber electronic and IT professionals.

The college has three campuses today. They are in the northeast east and south of Beijing. These campuses cover 233000 square meters. The teaching buildings cover 160000 square meters.

Beijing Internet College boasts impressive resources. There are nearly 4000 computers. The teaching equipment is worth 2 billion RMB. About 8000 full-time students study here. They pursue three-year diploma programs.

The college has 580 teaching staff and 350 administrative staff. Most teachers have master’s degrees. They also bring years of work experience. The government provides three-quarters of the funding.

Beijing Internet College prioritizes practical experience. The college built a Software Park. It provides 600 employment positions. Students enhance their skills through real software development. Software companies operate in the park. Students work with technicians on actual projects.

The college also runs the Beixin Digital Media Centre. It is located in the 798 Art Zone. Students participate in real film production. The graduates are well-prepared for their careers.

Beijing Internet College provides 30 diploma programs. These cover software technology and electronic information engineering. They include advertising design and film and animation. The college closely cooperates with enterprises.

The college has international partnerships. These are with institutions in the UK Germany New Zealand and Australia. Student exchange programs are also offered.

Beijing Internet College encourages student growth. Students participated in the 2008 Olympic Games. They issued Olympic IDs and worked as security. The college supports students in scientific contests. Students have won prizes in national competitions. The college offers many colorful activities.
