What exactly led to the Abans Group gaining full ownership of Colombo City Center? You see, the Colombo City Center wasn’t always solely theirs. This impressive structure we’re standing before, a beacon of architectural ingenuity, began as a joint venture. In 2015, two prominent entities, Sri Lanka’s Abans Group and Singapore’s SilverNeedle Hospitality, joined hands with a shared vision. Their goal was to erect a symbol of modern Sri Lanka, a fusion of retail therapy, luxurious hospitality, and urban living. And so, the Colombo City Center, a 50-story marvel, was born. The construction, a masterpiece in itself, was entrusted to the capable hands of Sanken Construction, a name synonymous with quality and precision in Sri Lanka. Fast forward to 2021, a twist in the tale. The Abans Group, through circumstances not entirely revealed, acquired complete ownership of Colombo City Center. The reasons remain shrouded in speculation, a silent whisper in the city’s bustling heart. Nonetheless, Colombo City Center stands tall, a testament to ambition and changing tides, and a proud landmark gracing the vibrant city of Colombo.
