Jingmen;Dajiaolou stands before you. This defensive tower whispers tales of a city steeped in history. Jingmen itself lies in Hubei province. It is strategically positioned as a communication hub.

Jingmen’s story stretches back to the Neolithic Age. However, its name appeared during the Tang Dynasty between 618 and 907. The government then established a county here.

Jingmen has lower mountains in its northwest. Plains and lakes dominate its southern part. The Hanjiang River flows through Jingmen.

Jingmen enjoys a subtropical monsoon climate. This means moderate weather with plenty of rain and sunshine. The average annual temperature is 16 degrees Celsius.

Jingmen is one of the earliest places of Chu culture. Zhongxiang city, a part of Jingmen, is a famous historical city. The Ming Tombs here are known as “the underground treasure house of Chu culture”. They are the largest tombs for a single emperor.

Other historical sites dot Jingmen. The Dongshan Pagoda dates back to the Sui Dynasty.

Today, Jingmen blends its rich past with modern life. It is a transport hub with highways, waterways, railways, and an airport. You can fly directly to Beijing from here.

Jingmen is also known for agriculture and industry. It is an important area for cotton and oil crops. The Jingmen Rape Petal Tourism Festival showcases this.

The Zhanghe River adds to Jingmen’s charm. The city enjoys ample sunshine making it suitable for growing various plants.
