Is it true that Jaipur has the biggest circular park in Asia? It does. We are now standing at Jawahar Circle. This impressive garden traffic circle is more than just a pretty spot. It’s a testament to Jaipur’s dedication to beauty and leisure.

Jawahar Circle is known as the largest circular park in Asia. It was built by the Jaipur Development Authority. Think of it as a giant roundabout transformed into a lush green space.

This is not just any park. Jawahar Circle has a diameter of 452 meters. Its circumference measures 1420 meters. That is quite a walk around. The Jaipur Development Authority fully developed this park. It has become a popular destination for locals and tourists alike.

Notice the multiple tracks within the park. These concentric paths invite you for a stroll. Rose gardens surround us. Their fragrance adds to the sensory experience.

Back in the day, the Jaipur Development Authority invested a lot in Jawahar Circle. They added musical fountains, walkways, and modern play equipment. Jogging tracks were also added. It is a space designed for everyone.

Let’s focus on the fountain in the center. It is more than just water. Every evening at 7 pm, a show begins. For 30 minutes, water sprays dance to the rhythm of music. Colored lights illuminate the display. You can even see music videos projected on a wall of spray.

The fountain’s water body has a radius of 47 meters. There are 290 different effects that can be displayed. The water reaches a height of 25 meters. The water screen is 27 meters wide and 9 meters high. It uses 316 colored lights. The video projector shines at 15000 lumens.

Interestingly, Rajasthan is a desert state. Maintaining such gardens and fountains requires a lot of water. The government uses recycled water for this purpose. While safe for the garden, the fountain water is not for drinking or bathing.

Jawahar Circle offers more than just visual treats. You will find food kiosks here. They sell local snacks and street food. Perfect for a quick bite while enjoying the surroundings.

The Patrika Gate is a highlight of Jawahar Circle. It acts as an entrance. It showcases the culture and heritage of Jaipur. Hand-paintings of palaces, forts, and historical figures adorn the gate. Pictures of local customs and architectural wonders are also present.

Entry to Jawahar Circle is quite affordable. It is a small fee for the experience. The park is open from 6 am to 9 pm. The musical fountain show takes place at 7 pm for half an hour.

So, as you wander through Jawahar Circle, remember its dual purpose. It is both a functional traffic circle and a beautiful leisure space. It represents Jaipur’s blend of urban planning and aesthetic appreciation.
