In 1954 a group of Catholics mostly from Hải Phòng diocese formed a parish. They settled near Biên Hòa 7 kilometers away. Life was difficult. Many parishioners moved elsewhere. Those remaining decided to establish their own parish. Father Vũ Trường Thư helped them unite. They built a simple church. It was made of wood. It measured only 60 square meters. Five years later Father Gioan Baotixita Nguyễn Thanh Hải took charge. He and the congregation built a new church. This one was much larger at 450 square meters. In 1971 they built another church. It measured 19 meters by 55 meters. It used strong materials. Its tower reached 42 meters. This is the Nhà thờ Giáo xứ Bạc Hải we see today. From 1975 to 2005 Father Giuse Phạm Ngọc Hoan led the parish. He improved the church building. He added a school and other facilities. In 2005 Father Đaminh Bùi Văn Án became the parish priest. In 2012 he and the congregation renovated the church completely. They improved its buildings. The Nhà thờ Giáo xứ Bạc Hải now has excellent facilities. The parishioners’ lives have also improved significantly. The church is a testament to faith perseverance and community. It stands as a symbol of resilience and growth. The Nhà thờ Giáo xứ Bạc Hải is more than just a building. It is a vibrant heart of the community a place where faith is nurtured.
