“A church with two names?” a visitor asks. Today we explore Nh\u00e0 th\u1edd Gi\u00e1o x\u1ee9 Trung Ngh\u0129a. This church is in Ho Chi Minh City. It stands as a testament to faith and community.
Nh\u00e0 th\u1edd Gi\u00e1o x\u1ee9 Trung Ngh\u0129a has a history that goes back to 1954. Father Daminh Ph\u1ea1m V\u0103n H\u00e2n brought Catholics to H\u1ed1 Nai. They settled and established Gi\u00e1o x\u1ee9 Trung Ngh\u0129a two years later.
In that same year Father Daminh and the community built their first church. It was made of brick with wooden supports and a tin roof. The church measured 10m x 24m. It served as a place for mass and prayer.
Over time dedicated priests guided Gi\u00e1o x\u1ee9 Trung Ngh\u0129a. The community grew stronger in faith and love. In 1975 Father Giuse \u0110\u00e0o Thanh H\u01b0\u01a1ng began serving Gi\u00e1o x\u1ee9 Trung Ngh\u0129a. In 1989 Father Giuse and the community built a new church.
The community of Gi\u00e1o x\u1ee9 Trung Ngh\u0129a faced challenges during its development. However the parishioners remained united in spirit and love. In 2001 Father \u0110aminh Ph\u1ea1m V\u0103n V\u00e0ng became the pastor.
With Father \u0110aminh’s love the Trung Ngh\u0129a community built a parish hall and a religious education center in 2002. This provided a space for children to learn catechism and enjoy activities. In 2011 Father Giuse Ph\u1ea1m H\u00f9ng S\u01a1n began serving the parish. In 2017 Father \u0110aminh returned to serve Gi\u00e1o x\u1ee9.
Thanks to God and Father \u0110aminh’s dedication pastoral activities flourished. The faith of the Trung Ngh\u0129a community continued to grow. As of the latest update the parish has about 668 Catholics.
Gi\u00e1o x\u1ee9 Trung Ngh\u0129a stands as a beacon of faith in the region. Its history reflects the devotion and resilience of its community. The church continues to be a vital center for worship and spiritual growth. It is a testament to the enduring power of faith.
Today the church celebrates masses every day of the week. Special masses are held on Sundays. The church is dedicated to \u0110\u1ee9c M\u1eb9 D\u00e2ng Con. The surrounding area includes K\u1ebb S\u1eb7t parish to the east. To the west is Xu\u00e2n Tr\u00e0 parish. To the south is Nam H\u1ea3i parish. The north borders the farming area of Tr\u1ea3ng D\u00e0i ward.
Nh\u00e0 th\u1edd Gi\u00e1o x\u1ee9 Trung Ngh\u0129a is more than just a building. It is a living symbol of faith community and history.
