Hope Centre’s story began over 90 years ago. Back then it was Glad Tidings Tabernacle in Brisbane’s Fortitude Valley. Since then Hope Centre has expanded. Now it reaches across South East Queensland and into the Northern Territory. You’ll find Hope Centre sites in Brisbane Logan Moreton and Ipswich. Redlands is coming soon. Hope Centre also partners with Desert Life Church in Alice Springs. New Life Christian Church in Nambour is also a partner. Hope Centre is part of Australian Christian Churches.
Wayne and Lyn Alcorn lead Hope Centre as Senior Pastors. They’ve been in this role since 2000. Their leadership focuses on planting churches. They also raise and send out leaders. Transforming communities is also a key goal. Hope Centre has become a multi-campus church under their guidance. It is multi-ethnic and multi-generational. It reaches communities locally and globally. Wayne and Lyn have two married sons Brendan and Josie. Ryan and Breony are their other son and his wife. They also have grandsons Dallas Ezra Jed and Grayson.

Lyn Alcorn drives Hope Centre’s welcoming environment. She is passionate about pastoral care. She wants people to find a place to call home. Lyn’s care extends beyond the church. She reaches communities far and wide. Her women’s conference “She Stands for Justice” has gained popularity. It connects justice with worship in action.

There is a Parents Lounge. It is for parents with children aged 0-1 years. You can enjoy the service in comfort. The space has change facilities and a feeding area. Ask a Hope Team volunteer to guide you.
Hope Kids is for children aged 1-12 years. This ministry is full of music teaching and games. Children learn about Jesus in a fun way. Sign your children in at the Kids Check-In desk.
