Yet, even earlier, it served as Eppendorf’s central north-south axis. It connected the village to Hamburg in the south. A map from 1774 depicts it as an avenue. In 1779, a coach station emerged. It later became the Alte Brauhaus and then the Tre Castagne restaurant. The Eppendorfer Mühle once stood at the mouth of the Tarpenbek and Mühlen teich. Today, Barmeiers Café occupies that location.

The bus line 114 and the express bus line 34 serve the Eppendorfer Landstraße.
