Let’s rewind to 1978. KESM began its journey in Kepong, Selangor Darul Ehsan, under the name KESM Systems & Service Sdn. Bhd. Rapid growth led to a relocation to Sungei Way Free Industrial Zone in Petaling Jaya. Operations remain there today. In 1983, the founders expanded by incorporating KESP Sdn Bhd in Bayan Lepas Free Industrial Zone, Penang. KESP undertook the burn-in business.
KESM Industries Berhad has been listed on Bursa Malaysia Securities Berhad since 1994. A year later, in 1995, KESM extended its burn-in business to include testing services. In 2007, KESM established a factory in Tianjin, China, called KESM Industries. It provides semiconductor burn-in and test services there. In 2021, another factory was set up in Malacca. This supports future growth in burn-in and test of automotive chips.
Today, KESM employs over 2,000 people across these locations. KESM serves the world’s leading semiconductor manufacturers. The KESM Group also provides electronic manufacturing services. These services go to original equipment manufacturers and original design manufacturers. They are in the computing, industrial, communications, and consumer markets.
