“Is it possible for a church to grow from a vision to an international community in just a few years?” That’s the story of Calvary Pentecostal Church of God. Right here in Los Angeles, this church has a fascinating story.
Calvary Pentecostal Church of God started with a vision given to Pastor Daniel in 2016. The first church was in Iowa. By 2022, Pastor Daniel was led to San Diego to continue the church’s mission.
This mission quickly expanded. Calvary Pentecostal Church partnered with visionary leaders around the world. These included Pastor Rajabu in Canada and Evangelist Mwavita in North Carolina. Reverend Gatera in Minneapolis and Pastor Mardochee in Uganda also joined. So did Pastor Ezra in New York, Dr. Andre and Maman Odette in California and Maman Florence also in California.
From its humble beginnings, Calvary Pentecostal Church has grown. It now has multiple locations in the United States, Uganda, and the Democratic Republic of Congo. It serves over 500 members. Here at the Los Angeles location on West 6th Street in San Pedro, you can see the local impact of this global church. Another location is located on West 26th Street.
The church has a clear mission. It wants people to know God through Jesus Christ. It encourages members to grow as disciples. Calvary Pentecostal Church also strives to share the Gospel and plant new churches worldwide.
Two dedicated individuals exemplify this mission. Pastor Ken was baptized in 1986. He has served in ministry since 2012. Ordained in 2020, he now leads prayer ministries at Calvary Pentecostal Church.
