Did you know that Rønneskolen, Afdeling Sন্ডndermark once faced a significant challenge? The school experienced a notable increase in students performing poorly in mathematics. This led to special oversight from the Danish Agency for Quality and Education.
Rønneskolen, Afdeling Sন্ডndermark, formerly known as Sন্ডndermarksskolen, is more than just a school. It is a cornerstone of the community. The school is proud to be a large community of skilled staff with diverse skills. Tradition plays a central role here. Traditions create recognition and a sense of community.
In 2008, Rønneskolen was created through a merger. Aavangsskolen, Østre Skole, and Sন্ডndermarksskolen joined forces. This formed Rønneskolen, a school spread across three locations. However, this arrangement was not permanent.
By 2016, Rønneskolen underwent another transformation. Afdeling Østre was slated to close. Students would then be accommodated at Sন্ডndermarksskolen and Aavangsskolen. The year was spent preparing for renovations and expansions. All secondary school students were temporarily housed at Afdeling Østre. Aavangsskolen continued as a department for kindergarten through 6th grade.
August 1, 2017, marked a new chapter. Aavangsskolen became an independent school again. Rønneskolen was dissolved. Aavangsskolen had 733 students in 33 classes and 83 employees.
The regional council granted 34 million kroner for renovations. These funds improved both Aavangsskolen and Sন্ডndermarksskolen. The goal was to establish new learning environments. These included science, humanities, creative arts, and primary school areas.
These learning environments featured alternative workstations. Mechanical ventilation was installed where needed. By October 2017, the work was complete. Stairs were also added to common areas. These supported teaching larger groups of students.
In the school year 2024/2025, the school worked hard to earn the Green Flag. The flag was raised just before summer vacation.
Today, Rønneskolen, Afdeling Sন্ডndermark focuses on fostering a strong sense of community. The school emphasizes creating a supportive environment for its students. They keep class sizes smaller than you might expect. This allows for more individual attention.
